”An Imprecise Dictation,” by Aura Arreola and Gabriel Ojeda-Sagué, is an adaptation and intermedia expansion of the poem “Dictation” from Ojeda-Sagué’s most recent poetry collection, Madness. Incorporating Arreola’s performance and dance practice, along with atmospheric music and sound art by both artists, “An Imprecise Dictation" uses various forms of repetition and reiteration to reflect on the embodied crisis of air and water contamination in a speculative near future.
The Lit & Luz Festival is a one-of-a-kind series of events featuring renowned authors, visual artists, and musicians from Chicago and Mexico in cultural exchange and conversation. This series of readings, conversations, artist talks, and performances, including the signature event Live Magazine Show, highlights new translations and artistic collaborations—showcasing some of the most innovative contemporary artists from both countries. The festival takes place in Chicago in the fall, followed by the Lit & Luz Festival Mexico City in the winter.
